Hello this is Darin Gonzales of Salt Lake City Utah USA. I am a very exellent occult fantasy surreal and macabre artist but I am not very well known. I work making signs which are carved out of foam and laminated with a resin and then painted. they are three dimensional signs and most are quite large. They are very impressive but I dont know if you will ever get to see any. Lately I have been working on projects on the side of the buisness where I am creating sculpted three dimensional artwork. My work is very dark very realistic and intense. It has an evil biomechanical feel to it and is very detailed and gothic but is different from the type of art you create and very original. My previous job was at a tattoo studio here in utah and before that i worked making grave markers. I have boxes of original drawings I have created all of outstanding quality and skill I also am very good at airbrushing, pencil, painting, computer graphics, sculpting, animation, etc. If there were anyone in the world who could compete with you as a master of the dark arts it would be me. I am not as lucky though and have not had the chance at working on movies or being contracted for galleries or any other application. I have been doing artwork for as long as I can remember. I am also a musician. I play guitar, bass, and sing and have been in several band projects but Im currently working on solo projects. The music styles I play are black metal, industrial, techno, trance, heavy metal, death metal and also new experimental musical projects which are very dark and intense. If you would like to see samples of my artwork please write or call for a request. If not thanks for your time. Darin Gonzales 5963 so. Greenwood dr. I'm planning to get myself some larger TATTOO-work at the cost of approx. US$ 2000,00 to US$ 2500,00. That's quite a bit of artwork! Now, I feel for the H.R.Giger design-like "Alien",or "biomechanic". That's why I'm looking around for some ideas or examples of Giger artwork to use. Any help is welcome, and by the way, is it OK concerning copyright etc?

Beautifully rendered site, Thomas! Giger never fails to astound, and you've captured the essence quite well! Giger - I have been very influenced by you in my own small ways! I would like to send you some music which, like your art, marries technology with the organic in a dark-yet-sensous manner. There are downloadable samples on my home page, but of course the sound quality there is lacking. Please let me know what address I can use to mail you a CD!

You are one of the most amazing artists ever! I can't possibly say anything that more prolithic people than myself could express. However, I must mention that I would really like to see you with a ton of money, get together with a visionary film maker, and a concept of your own, creating a film project that you had SOLE control over, at very least visually. I have read stories, year after year, of how you have gotten screwed by the film industry. It seems that the best thing (for you, as far as complete creative control) you must have ever worked on was 'Alien', which is a visual masterpiece. I see your beautiful designs everywhere from the Alien ship to the corridors of the human ship (Nostromo). The effect was varied, but still all of it contained the same element of maticulous artistry that seems to pervade every inch of your work. Incredible! You may not realize this, maybe you do, but with that one design [Alien] you affected the whole world with a new standard of horrible and beautiful designs that has lasted for twenty years, TO THIS DAY! You don't recieve nearly enough credit for this, and people who are only aware of your Alien design, and there are many such people, do not know that they are only recieving the 'tip of the artistic iceburg'. They don't realize that the art that spawned the whole world into a state of awe was only one sentence of one of the world's most unique novels. I feel sure that if they saw more of your vision as you see it (played out perhaps in the most available medium for artistic revelation, film) they would see you as I do, The Voice that brings to us a terrible dimension that must be a part of all as blood is a part of life. Thank you.

Maybe for me there is a chance to leave a message for my Master, my Sensei, my hero, my idol the Great H.R. Giger. I imagine my God reading thousand and thousand of that silly message like mine but.. I only hope or I like to think that Mister Giger will read my message one of these day.Sorry for my poor english I'm a french canadian and I'm better in french! (Naturally) For my message, I will talk both in french and in english. So, there's my message: "Mr Giger, I'm so upset 'cause here in Quebec city in Canada, I try to talk about you between me and my friend and anyone known you. I'm not trying to say to you to come here in Quebec (but you known, it's a beautiful old city with lots of history) but I want to see more stuff from you to sale. Ask to you marketing compagny to sell more things here in Quebec city (Not Montreal)."

In May this year every Giger fan went salivating when a general "extraterrestrial" exhibition was to be opened in Budapest; it turned out to be so excruciatingly lame I lost all my hopes... Enough to mention the German sign "Ausgang" on the wall of the "Aliens" set. So I'm afraid I'll have to put up with the websites for a while; you know, here in Hungary I couldn't find any of your publications. Anyway, it would be great to see some of your originals around here some time (wink of suggestion). No comment on the website; I am no expert in such matters, so I found it just like any other site. By the way, I just glimpsed that trademark "Li I." painting of yours in the X-Files Season One episode "Gender Bender". It seems your art is indelibly embedded in this kind of sci-fi fare, and I find it just right that way!

through the ugly we see the beautifull. the famous tale of the good or bad. the one that tells the story best wins. And Giger has definetely won for his life.

I had a stupid question just one or two paragraphs under the other ones. "How do you balance yourself?" I answered it myself. The art is your balance. I should more probably ask: What is the force that makes you unbalanced? dan

White Plains, USA - Monday, 05 August 1996 at 21:37:26

Just came up with another thing: People who balance themself without expression don't usually need to express themselfs. People who are not balanced express themselfs each time differently to get them into position 0. People who express themselfs each time the same way have balance them self because they tend to be influenced by a force that pulls them the same direction each time they do something. These forces are mostly memories and go way back into child hood. But since the future is the doorway into the past through our memories we gain roots to the psychadelic experience the expression allows us to find the community in which we experience the psychadelic experience in a save environment in which we create memories, less strong memories then in the childhood, but still influencing memories, which after time fade into the next child passing on the memories to again try to open the doorway into the past away the brain out of the body into the higher state of consciousness. By the way, Josh Winks album Higher State of consciousness is the bomb. thanks for the time appreciate. Anybody like to continue the discussion? I have a server at http://www.technohouse.com/ where I could easily set up a discussion group for psychadelic high intelligence conversations.

I found some interesting SOLUTION on how to CREATE ART just like that and even having your own style. Imagine anything that you TRULY LOVE or think that is BEAUTIFULL. Now take that image and invert it into the most ugliest thing. People find it much easier to imagine the nice things. And if you try to imagine extremely beautifull things you might find it easier then starting with something extremely ugly. You will never get that far. So do something extremely beautiful turn it around and you got something extremely ugly. for example: H.R. Gigers baby faces. the nice: one baby. Smiling. Healthy. With his mom. turn it around: lots of babies, crying, deseased, alone. another example: take that picture up here in the guest book of the woman or whatever it is. .Now imagine a beautifull woman and how it would look like. Now turn it around. Voila there we go. another one: children and people like warm coloured pictures in general. So let's get rid of the colour and and make it dirty easthetics is of course a whole different story and that you get only by doing artwork yourself day and night or sitting in the library looking reading art books or visiting endless gallaries Once you start showing your pictures to your friends (don't show it to the family. They'll just think you are crazy) Everybody will know about it you. And one day somebody...: "I just heard about this art gallery, they are looking for an artist, this is your chance"

Most of your pictures lack any kind of emotion. Is that the key to your artwork? Do you consider yourself normal? I also would like to say that most of your artwork is perverted and abnormal which of course draws attention to media and garantees the potential of success. one things: Your artwork is very focused on one topic. Do you do it because of the money nowadays? If you'd like to contact me then you can reach me at daniel@technohouse.com

was wondering how you stay healthy doing this artwork. I have done this kind of artwork for couple of years now and it gets kind of depressive. (not that I don't like it) how do you balance yourself?

.................. ---->>>gREETinGs<<<---- heheheh.... ummm. I would firstly like to mention that your artworks have inspired my artmaking, especially for my Year 12 Major work in visual arts (which is a Life size sculpture; plaster) as your are my most influential artist. I would like to ask a few questions........ What is your favourite band?.... but more importantly who were or are your major influences? (i.e artists, actors, musicians etc) and oh yeah.... I would like to get into airbrushing,& was wondering could you suggest a good airbrush to begin with?... hehehehheh sorry to make this so long..... I would like to make a suggestion to you, with your artskills, I belive that you could do some AeWsome!!! art works (better than any 3D computer artists could) using high end silicon Graphics machines to create a 3D world of your own. You could create 3D computer animations in a number of ways. One simple way would be to use your sculpture skills to create minatures of your artworks, so that you could use to be able to digitise them on to the computer via 3D digitiser, which would then be ready for manipulation even modification... (this would save a hell of a lot of time, then by trying to totaly create 3d models from scratch using the programs sculpturing tools)... Once this is accomplished it is then a simple matter of fiddleing with light sources, textures, and camera angles to achieve results seen in Jurrasic park and Toy Story... (note this can take hours to do, even days). But the beauty of it is that animation is possible with the greatest of ease... I noted the difficulties you encountered with the timing of the engines from the ghost train model you did for the movie species... This situation could have easily been avoided if the whole artwork was developed using 3d graphic programs such as Alias or even 3d studio Max... to recreate the scene that would be exactly the same as you visualised.... I want to say that it would only take about a month or two to learn how to use these programs and about a year to master..... and also THAT IT IS EXTREMLEY EASY TO ADAPT FROM PAPER TO COMPUTER TO CREATE 3D GRAPHICS......... !!!Hey if I can do it!!! and achieve amazing results. Imagine what you could do with the skills you have... The thought seems flawless..... Please find the time to try this medium of the future..... (appologies if you have already tried) Lastly I Really, really, really hope to see an authentic 3D computer graphic animation created by you in the future. Please notify me if you have already made some or if you are going to make some........>>>Cya from your greatest fan, aLen....<<<-----

Giger is the man. All my art is inspired by his. I can't draw nearly as awesome as he does, but I still get inspired by all his work. The sheer genious of the alien creatures still to this day astounds me. I find the idea of them just mind blowing. I would have to spend years upon years to create an equally worthy creature, if that is at all possible. HR Giger is by far my favorite artist, and if I believed in idols, he and his art would by my idol!

I think you are the best surrealist artist, your art is as good as Dali's. The concept of darkness, creatures from other dimensions and the apocaliptical atmosphere of your art, just amuses me. Your exhibition should come to Mexico, to let your work be known by all the people, we are eager to "live" such art. I think it would be a great idea to have a bar with your creations, like the one in Switzerland. I'm sure it would be a big success, just like "Hard Rock Cafe", your fans will be very excited.
