Comments: I had a final project due on two weeks. What it was, was I had to make an
interface and cut it up for Fireworks class. I couldn't think of a damn thing to make an
interface for. I came across this site and I was an instant fan of Giger and his work. So

genius, etc,etc... I just can't figure out, why on Earth Species II was made, if they were
planning to do it so badly (in terms of writing) and disrespectfuly (in terms of changing
Giger's artwork and designs). By the way, Alien: resurrection also sucks, so it's better
if people don't get lured into suffering it, specially if they are expecting Giger's

Comments: Does anyone know the meaning of the symbol on the book cover of "www
HRGiger com?" I have been seeing a symbol similar to this in my dreams for some time
but was only showed the book last night by a friend who saw my sketch on the wall and
recognised it. I did not believe it but he showed it to me on the book link on this site.
I had used my Jungian beliefs to interpret as a mirror image of 666 and 999, when I added
a 1 in front of the 999 I realised it is part of my recurring nightmares about good versus
evil in 1999; that this is like a warning from Nostradamus et cetera. Yeah I sound nuts?
I'm a poet what do you expect? '-) Please write if you have info on the symbol, how
ancient or what the meaning is, if Giger made it up and if so, has he said where the
influence came from? I love Giger (and even pronounce his name correctly) but I am no
expert on his work. Thank you

Comments: There are two huge influences upon my overarching philosophy of life at
the moment: Cronenburg and Giger. There are obvious differences between these two artists,
but the fundimental similarities between them are phenomenal. The most important thing
which strikes me about Giger is his uncanny way of reflecting the true nature of the
"modern" human being. Humans as a species are not the same animals they were 40,
or even 10 years ago. The line between technology and its propagators (if it ever existed)
has been eradicated by the violent surge forward on the part of society; the evolution of
technology from artifact to process in popular consciousness (although probably
unconscious) seems to be reflected in the way Giger's human figures seem to spurt from the
technological hardware with which they are intwined. Basically, since the time of the
first homo sapiens, the evolution of the human species has push the evolution of
technology forward, and vice versa. Soft technology (which is basically the way things are
done) is a theme which seems to be predominant in Giger's work - in a word: SEX. The
figures seem to be engaged in entirely new processes of copulation, which can serve to
define a new sexual technology. Therefor the works as a whole strike me as a clever pun on
this concept. They are simply mesmerizing in their own right because they are so pure and
primordial, speaking to the ancient lizard brain the way no flowery landscape or stiff,
dry portrait could. The fecundity of Giger's work holds the eye in its shifting tapestry
of metaphors. There is something new everytime one looks at any piece of his. Ok, I'm
done.

Comments: info für hansruedi giger: wissen sie noch, am 1.6.97 an der
gallery-ausstellung (loft) in kreuzlingen? dort waren wir einen nachmittag zusammen und
betrachteten ihre kunstwerke. als ich gehen wollte, signierten sie noch meinen
blutroten-clio aus spass von innen!!! leider überschlug es mich mit dem ding
eindutzendmal und breichte eine überirdische gasleitung, zum glück schleuderte es mein
körper aus dem kofferraum, bevor ich aber ohnmächtig liegenblieb ,sah ich noch die kiste
in die luft fliegen (explodieren) und dachte an sie und der nette gummimilch-büstenhalter
mit extremen brustspitzen!!!! komisch oder....!!!!! mit ganz tollen grüssen tino
zimmermann Ps: das schloss ist wunderschön und die reume sehr "exquise"
eingerichtet!! ich hoffe ,dass man sich wieder einmal sehen wird!!!
